Our confidential hotline is available 24/7 at 888-345-2846.
First as Coles County War Against Rape (1977), then Sexual Assault Counseling & Information Services (SACIS, 1984) and Counseling & Information Services for Sexual Assault/Abuse (1996), our organization has been serving survivors of sexual violence and the communities in which we live.
In 2024 we changed our name to more clearly reflect who we are and what we can do together: Prevail Illinois.

We aim to foster inclusive healing options for those affected by sexual violence, make people feel respected and valued, and affirm their identities and experiences through counseling, advocacy, case management, community education, and prevention services. It is our vision to mitigate and reduce sexual violence, advocate for social justice in all our communities, and provide client-centered services to all survivors of sexual violence while working to address systems of oppression. We serve throughout nine southeast Illinois counties: Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, southern Clark, Edwards, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland, and Wabash.

Our advocates provide survivors with choices. By listening to each survivor we area able to offer legal guidance and support, medical advocacy and connections, and case management for a range of post-assault pressures (no matter when the assault occurred). Learn more >>
Our counselors support adult and child survivors and their non-offending family members regardless of the proximity to the assault, be it the week or 50 years before. Professionally trained and trauma-informed, our counseling meets clients where they are at to support them in arriving where they would like to be. Learn more >>
Preventing sexual violence is as important as responding to its aftermath. We facilitate trainings in K-12 (in order to be compliant with Emily's Law and Faith's Law), college, and university settings; community organizations and businesses; and any other group that wants to prevent sexual violence, including human trafficking.
